The structure of reviewing is that two or three reviewers will read the proposal in full, and then read their reviews in panel discussions while the rest of the panel listens and skims the first few pages. This is why it is so essential to communicate the whole proposal in the first few pages.
Feedback on my NSF AISL proposal
- Use the quotations later or in different ways. Not the right way to spend primo real estate.
- I was ready to hear about what this proposal is doing.
- This feels like a journal article. Genre mismatch. Where’s the beef?
- What is it you’re wanting to do? When I went back to read the title, it threw me. Where was the interactive storytelling?
