RESPONSE TO REVIEWERS
Dear Dr. Meyers,
I wanted to thank you and the reviews for your thoughtful feedback. I have incorporated most of the feedback into the revised manuscript attached here. I also wanted to respond to a few of the suggestions from reviewers.
The paper’s second author, Paulo Blikstein, has moved from Stanford University to Teachers College since the article was submitted. The journal’s author guidelines say that “The affiliation listed should be where they were based at the time that the research for the paper was conducted,” so I have left his affiliation as Stanford University. However, his Stanford email account is no longer active; his current email account is paulob@tc.columbia.edu. Please feel free to update the manuscript as appropriate in this situation (or I can update it).
Finally, Reviewer 2 suggested that my description of a distribution’s skew was reversed in the sentence, “The distribution was skewed right (most stories were short).” I understand “skewed right” to mean there is a long tail to the right, as shown in the diagram below (from https://www.statisticshowto.datasciencecentral.com/probability-and-statistics/skewed-distribution/) If this journal uses a different convention, please feel free to re-word the sentence in question.
