Olga Carynnyk (1)
Olga Carynnyk (4) Zuz and I are increasingly feeling like we would like to settle in West Philly and raise our family here. We love this building and its history, and are wondering whether you would be open to exploring selling it to us. (If not, obviously, no problem—we won’t pester you about it.) We had some initial discussions with Jurij about this, but when he got really sick, we put the conversation on pause. But depending on your long-term plans, I think it could make sense. If you’re open to entertaining the idea, I’d be happy to put together some ideas. Thanks!
Sorry, I sent the text before I finished. In the meantime, can we repair the tiles? I’ll speak to Alex about that. I’m not sure about what to with the building. I’m still dealing with Jurij ’s death, it really hit me hard. I’m in the process right now to transfer the deed to the house to my name and it’s taking longer than I expected. Naturally I’m working with a lawyer. You can certainly send me your ideas, perhaps write them out and send them by mail.
The building needs a lot of work and I need to deal with that. Just before he passes away, Jurij spoke to roofer and was asking him to go to Baltimore Ave. I don’t know if that ever happened. I will call that same roofer and speak with him and get the roof repaired if necessary.
=====================
Sure, we’re happy to work with you on the tiles, and will keep you up to date on the roof. Right now there’s just one spot that drips when it rains. We only knew Jurij for a year or so, but I felt like we got to know him some and were deeply saddened at his illness and passing. I lost my father several years ago after a long battle with cancer, and Alex and I have talked some about our shared experiences. More than anything else, I was surprised at how unexpected and uneven the whole emotional process has been. We send our hope for your healing and peace. We’ll write up some ideas and mail them to you, but definitely want to make sure you don’t feel any pressure. We are happy to respect your timeline or desire to let it rest. If we did someday buy the house from you, part of the appeal would be continuing Jurij’s work of craftsmanship and care.
