Presidential alert
Presidential alert Thanks for contacting Apple Support. My name is Joel. Please give me a moment to look over your information. Hi, Chris! I hope you’re doing fine. How may I help you today? Hi Joel, thanks My phone is working as designed, but I still have a problem 8:21 AM It was unacceptable to me to get a “presidential alert” on my phone yesterday with no way to even opt out. I and many people I know found it stressful and aggravating to get klaxon horns playing fro our phones and a message from a racist government agency. I know Apple probably didn’t choose to do this, but I wanted to send this feedback 8:22 AM I value Apple’s stance on privacy–at least it’s better than the other options. If another company had a phone plan that allowed skipping these “alerts” I would switch to it. I hope Apple will do what it can to push back on this policy 8:24 AM I appreciate you taking time to chat about this, Chris. Yes I understand how stressful and aggravating this could be. I don’t want to receive this alert on my phone too. Basically, this alert came from all major carriers and for now, there’s no option to turn this off. We would appreciate it if you could send in your feedback to our feedback page at [https://www.apple.com/feedback/ https://www.apple.com/feedback/]. Will do, thanks! We have an entire team of expert engineers that would review all feedbacks here to improve our products and services. You’re most welcome. Aside from this, would there be anything else that I could assist?
I wanted to send some feedback on yesterday’s “presidential alert.” I know Apple probably didn’t choose to do this, but I wanted to send feedback. It was unacceptable to me to get this intrusion on my phone yesterday with no way to even opt out. I and many people I know found it stressful and aggravating to get klaxon horns playing from our phones and a message from a racist government agency.
Our relationship with our phones is quite intimate at this point. Honestly, I would rather take my chances in a flood than allow this kind of voice free access to my head. I value Apple’s stance on privacy–at least it’s better than the other options. If another company had a phone plan that allowed skipping these “alerts” I would switch to it. I hope Apple will do what it can to push back.
Thinking the same. Would you say this kind of technology enacts an ideology? Is an ideology? Works like an ideology?
than allow this kind of voice free access to my head.
