Constructionist manifesto

Constructionist manifesto I know that I have been a champion of focusing on mainstream pedagogical best practices (UbD), but I also want to make sure we keep focused on our central research agenda of discovering new (and critical) possibilities for education that is embedded in computational media. I pushed for a non-tech workshop focus at DSIL because I thought that was what those teachers and that school needed the most. But I would like to take some time to think about how the tech we are excited about can support these principles. The tech we think is cool is well-grounded in constructionist / situated / connected / distributed / computational literacy theory, but I’m not sure teachers see how alignment with that theory serves their agendas. This seems aligned with Papert’s critique of technocentrism.
