RPI study idea

RPI study idea How might we develop a companion supporting students as they explore linux? A command-line based agent who observes interactions (for example, with a Raspberry Pi), and interjects suggestions when the person is likely frustrated, and suggests other things to explore when the person might be ready for it? Like a CLI slackbot buddy.

To learn about the Linux learning experience, we could do a GMS workshop of exploring linux with Raspberry Pis for a week. We would log all keystrokes, system state, video record all the sessions, and ask students to log their emotions every five minutes with an unobtrusive poll. Then train a GRU on the system events (keystrokes, navigation, processes) to predict student affect.

If we could successfully predict affect, we could then do a second iteration in which we developed interventions using affect to offer interventions. Do another workshop, interpret user responses as labels (was this useful?) Train on these labels.
