TELOS Faculty Grant Project Abstract (350 words max)

Please describe the principal goal(s) of the course and how you propose to achieve the goal(s). If there is a specific part of the project that TELOS funds will be used for, please describe. (400 words max)

BBA learning goals:

Scholarly justification: What is the rationale for this course? How does it relate to existing courses or projects? (300 words max)

BB&A is GSE’s primary hands-on integrations with the design, fabrication, and critique of learning technologies. 

What is this course’s potential to further the TELOS mission: to advance equity by creating and investigating ways that technology can increase opportunities for underserved PreK- 12 learners, families, and educators? (200 words max)

Proposal to allow students to apply for grants to scale up their projects as either research or as interventions after the course completes. Students or student groups may request up to $1000 to develop their projects or to take them further after the completion of the course.

The specific aspects of equity will be framed by student applications, but in general the course should be seen as supporting students learning to design and critique educational technologies with respect to theories of learning, education, and technology. Directly serves TELOS’s core mission. 

What is the role of technology in the course content? Why is technology uniquely suited to this problem or question? (100 words max) The course is fundamentally about the application of technology to education.
