CLASS as a coding framework for analyzing in-class interactions

The central move in statistical reasoning is invalidation of the null hypothesis: showing that if there were no effect (or if both groups come from the same population), the probability distribution would be such that getting results like these would be extremely unlikely. Therefore, we conclude that there probably is a difference between the groups. 

Social network analysis, as a subfield of machine learning, makes the same move. We start with some assumption about what is likely, in terms of weighting different factors. Then look at each student as a data point,

A lot of people.  Some demands when it comes to data. Repeated measures of the same network.  Low Jaccard Index: Need the right amount of change.  Binary network.  Ordinal behavior Y. 

So I’m interested in the extent to which students feel they are part of the imagined community of the school. How does student journalism reframe the imagined community of the school? Who is not included? How can we bring a postcolonial social theory interpretation to this situation? How does mediatization play a role here?
