Project Bloks Research questions
Project Bloks Research questions research idea that just came to me:
The shields / blocks interface has the potential to reinforce the division between concrete specifics of a problem and the generalizable abstractions of computation “underlying” them. Does this interface promote transfer across concrete instances of problems as compared to another interface without the shields/blocks interface?
How about tangible, representational pucks that would allow the physicality of the Bloks themselves to participate? (This is already the case with sensor pucks, whose functionality is dependent on their physical situation.) Like 3D-printed signal towers with beacons on top indicating proximity to other signal towers, or showing pulses going out to other towers. Perhaps we could even use the physicality of the Bloks to interact with other tanglbie, embodied computational artifacts like board games.
