Read Butler (1990) for performative self, feminist argument for multivocal selves; critique of aggressive univocal selves. This feels right to me. 

A machine learning project to synthesize sociolinguistic analysis as a system of vocalized self!!! How fun.       Code as speech. Analyze students’ code in terms of what they are doing with it, as speech acts.       So I should take a class on NLP
