Sociolinguistic analysis Epistemology of learning sciences:       Refer to Resilience research; need to study things as complex systems. Refer to Nathan & ____, proposing LS as intregative approach. Draw on Sandra Mitchell.  Ethics of this research. Can’t do it haphazardly. Need to add value to the schools we partner with, and give certainty that we are respecting their data rights.  Lead with sociocultural hunches: Kid who just arrived, thriving  Much of this work driven by people with experience working with schools, who know, who have seen the effect that embodied learning environments can have.
