Epistemological Interface

Epistemological Interface Papert writes about how a big part of education is learning to connect with big ideas. he descries big ideas as being person-like in that you get to know them in addition to knowing them. They can also be tool-like; you can learn to use them in powerful ideas. This leads to the idea of the epistemological interface: ideas can be presented to students in a variety of different contexts, with various affordances of how, where, and to what ends they may be used. Just as with any other tool, ideas can be empowering or not depending on how a user learns to use the tool.

Literacy is a way of naming how we act within an ecosystem of meaning.
